Wilson Combat has teamed up with legendary firearms trainer and consultant Ken Hackathorn for a commander-sized version of his Hackathorn Special released a few years ago.
Dubbed, appropriately enough, the Wilson Combat Hackathorn Special Commander, this pistol is designed for the concealed carrier who likes a shorter 4.25-inch bushing barrel and full-size carbon steel frame. Meanwhile, the one-piece Bullet Proof mag well, concealment hammer/grip safety, and medium-length trigger were personally picked by Ken to suit his needs and come standard on this model.
Available in both 9mm and .45 ACP, the Wilson Combat Hackathorn Special Commander also features a 4.25-inch carbon steel slide; black G10 starburst flat bottom grips; countersunk slide stop; rear cocking serrations; 30 LPI high cut checkered frontstrap; heavy machine chamfer on the bottom of the slide; Battlesight rear and fiber optic front sight; fluted chamber; 30 LPI slide top serrations; 40 LPI serrated rear of slide; ball endmill cuts; tactical Bullet Proof thumb safety; and 3 ½ to 4 ½-pound trigger pull.
Since this gun comes with Ken’s custom options, the only allowable upgrades are an ambidextrous safety, your choice of front sight and a hand-polished blued finish. Each pistol also comes with Ken’s signature engraved on the slide.
Rounding out the specs for this model are an 8-round magazine capacity (.45 ACP), 7.85-inch overall length, 5.95-inch sight radius, a height of 5.6 inches, a width of 1.3 inches, a weight of 38.2 ounces empty and 44.8 ounces loaded, and an accuracy guarantee of 1.5 inches at 25 yards.
The base price for the Wilson Combat Hackathorn Special Commander is $3750. Check out the hype video below.
