Winchester Ammunition Lands DoD Contract

The $38 million contract sends 9mm frangible ammunition to the DoD. The 9mm ammo fills the needs for close-quarter battle (CQB) combat and indoor/outdoor CQB training, according to Winchester.

“This is another opportunity for Winchester to demonstrate its leadership in support of the U.S. Warfighter,” said Brett Flaugher, president of Winchester Ammunition.

Winchester owns a long, enviable reputation providing ammo to the U.S. military. It remains the U.S. Army’s largest commercial supplier of small caliber ammo, according to Winchester. It also claims the largest supplier of certified U.S. Mil-Spec small caliber ammunition to the U.S. military. Further, Winchester provides ammo to law enforcement agencies across the country.

We reported last fall when Winchester took over full operational control of the famed Lake City Army Ammunition plant. Lake City stands as the largest small military production facility in the country. For more information, visit winchester.com.
