Winchester to Release Special Win1911 Wooden Ammo Box

Winchester Ammunition has announced plans to release a special wooden collector’s box containing 200 rounds of its .45 Auto Win1911 ammunition.

According to the Shooting Times, the box comes with either 230-grain jacketed-hollowpoint (JHP) or 230-grain full metal jacket (FMJ) bullets. It also boasts an overall weight of 11 pounds and measures 2.5 x 7.5 x 13.4 inches. Another appealing feature of the box itself is that it is sized to fit 1911 pistols.

Winchester’s new wooden box of .45 auto Win1911 ammo will be available next month at a retail price of $129 to $139. As the Shooting Times notes, the box will be Winchester’s Black Friday special at Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, Gander Mountain, Field & Stream and Academy.

Winchester unveiled its Win1911 ammo line last November. “The M1911 pistol is one of the most recognizable and iconic firearms on the market. We at Winchester have undertaken significant testing to maximize functioning and accuracy with these new offerings to create an ammunition line that lives up to the name of the legendary pistol,” Brett Flaugher, Winchester Ammunition vice president of sales, marketing and strategy, said in a press release.
