Classes begin at 6 p.m. sharp, so participants will need to sign in at 5:30 p.m., he said.Participants will be asked to wear sneakers and gym clothing, Delaney said. “This is a hands-on course where Springfield Police Officers will teach you defensive tactics to help you overcome an attack or robbery,” he said. “We also give lessons on pepper spray and how not to become a victim. You will also learn preventative measures on staying safe.”
There will also be a lecture on domestic violence, he said. “We have given this class numerous times over the past four years and it is a huge success,” he said.
