While Kydex holsters have become popular with shooters, there is just something about leather. Leather holsters have a feel and look that inspires with beauty. They are also just classic. This includes the Wright Leather Works Closer IWB Holster.

The Closer is the Ohio company’s version of the Bruce Nelson/Milt Sparks Summer Special. This style of holster has long been desired by shooters for its comfort and usability. Additionally, this holster just looks and feels like a gun rig should.
The Closer features a reinforced mouth, which keeps it open after drawing the gun. So, re-holstering is simple and automatic. It also comes with guard that protects both the user’s skin and the firearm. This guard keeps sweat off the gun, which is why it was originally called the Summer Special.
Regarding belt retention, users can choose between 1.5- or 1.75-inch loops. Additionally, the loops secure via Pull-The-Dot snaps for enhanced security. This keeps the holster close the body where it belongs.
However, the company made some changes to this design. Instead of a rough-side out, the closer features a smooth exterior and a rough interior. However, versions from the Master and Signature collections come with interior lining, which makes both sides smooth.
Now most shooters will use the Closer in the strong-side position. However, the holster can be adjusted for both appendix and crossdraw carry. Additionally, it can be adjusted for cant. Most shooters prefer the FBI style 20-degree cant. But, it can also ride straight, for those who like that style. In any case, the Closer combines beauty, comfort and function. It is even available in five colors to suit anyone’s desire.
