Wright-Patterson AFB is looking to privatize energy and utilities, and initiate more public-private partnerships to fund future construction and joint ventures at the Ohio military facility.
Col. Cassie B. Barlow, commander of the 88th Air Base Wing, said that Wright-Patterson recently asked for bids to manage two water plants on base that pump in excess of three million gallons per day through a underground aquifer.

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has also asked for bids to operate the waste water collection and natural gas distribution at Wright-Patterson AFB, according to base spokesman Daryl Mayer.
