Thermal optics have come a long way over the years and are a great equalizer for hunting and special operations. Not only do they provide heat signature identification, but most also include onboard recording. So, you can preserve the video of your shoot for posterity or detailed record reporting. The new Impact 300 Thermal Scope TS300 from X-Vision Optics provides all this and more.
The X-Vision Optics Impact 300 Thermal Scope TS300
The rugged construction of the TS300 is capable of handling over 54 ft/lb. of recoil, allowing for compatibility with a large variety of firearms. Likewise, the IP67 waterproof rating provides protection when submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
Featuring a 640×480 thermal sensor, the TS300 can detect big game well past 3,000 yards, according to the company. Likewise, the scope has a 1,400-yard recognition range. Correspondingly, the high frame rate of 50Hz and 12µm pixel size captures sharp thermal images while smoothly tracking rapid motion in the distance.
Emitting its own Wi-Fi signal, the TS300 can connect to multiple devices simultaneously. Not to mention, it has a connectivity range of 150 yards. As a result, you don’t need to worry about a cell signal in the field. So, you can save your captured photos/videos on a connected IOS/Android device or the onboard 16GB internal memory.
With an objective lens of 35mm in diameter, the TS300 has a field of view of 70 feet at 100 yards. Similarly, the 2 to 16x magnification gives access to all its thermal core has to offer for day/night target observation.
Specifically, the optional hotspot tracking uses a small crosshair to pinpoint/follow the hottest object in its field of view. Likewise, it has a stadiametric rangefinder, to give exact range distance readings. Additionally, the 1024×768 OLED display provides picture-in-picture so the user can see the max magnification in an adjustable screen subset.
Operating on a single rechargeable 3.6v Lithium-Ion battery (2 included), the scope has an operating life of five hours. Featuring ten reticles and six color options, the unit can save six sets of zeroing data. As a result, users can fine-tune the device for up to six rifles and quickly move the scope between them.
