XTech Tactical Releases the MAG47 Polymer AK Magazine

XTech Tactical, a gear and accessories manufacturer based out of Mesa, Ariz., is releasing an AK magazine it claims is the “most advanced, durable and reliable” mag ever made.

The mag in question, dubbed the MAG47, is polymer in its composition and features a 17-7 stainless steel spring; stainless steel reinforced feed lips and locking lugs; tool-free assembly and disassembly; and a lug geometry that ensures it fits with most AK style firearms. This is a 30-round magazine that should look familiar to those who remember the AK30 by the shuttered US Palm.

In the press release, XTech Tactical says the testing for the MAG47 was “extensive,” involving over 20,000 rounds without a single failure. It also included hundreds of drops, exposures to chemicals, harsh climates and general abuse. The goal here was to raise the bar when it comes to U.S.-made polymer AK mags.

“We had a very personal mission in this program to represent our country in making a product that not only was desirable to consumers, but shows the world that the US can produce an AK magazine in line with the greatest AK magazines ever made from countries like Bulgaria and Russia,” said Jeremy Deadman, XTech Tactical’s sales and marketing director.

The company collaborated with Tom Cornelius, an Arizona-based foreign weapons trainer, former LEO and general AK enthusiast, on this particular project.

“Tom was instrumental in every step of the MAG47 becoming what it is today. We are very excited to partner with Tom and look forward to working with him on this and future programs,” Deadman added.

The MSRP on the MAG47 is $28.95. Since it’s a 30-rounder, this magazine won’t ship to the following locations: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Hawaii.
