ZEV turned some serious heads earlier this year with the launch of its own Glock-based pistol line, the OZ9. From first glance through field testing, the ZEV OZ9 shined, especially in its most high-end form, the OZ9 Competition. Now ZEV turns its attention to the conceal carry market with the OZ9c, a compact version of the same line.

While the full-size model compares to a Glock 17, the Compact model fills the roll of the G19. As such, it excels in its ability to shoot a lot of rounds or carry concealed. At the recent Athlon Outdoor Rendezvous, we got the chance to send a lot of rounds downrange, and the OZ9c turned some heads.
“It has all the same features as our full-size one,” said Dave Roberts, ZEV Technologies. “It’s a modular steel frame; it runs from the front of the gun to the back of the gun. There’s a single pin; you punch the pin out and it basically levers out of the grip. And then you can switch grips, change colors. Later on this year we’ll probably have some different colors.”
With the trend toward carry optics, ZEV includes and Trijicon RMR cut and RMR adapter plate with each OZ9. Otherwise, the pistol comes with a fiber-optic front sight and combat rear sight. A compact-length slide, match grade barrel, flat face trigger and Pro Magwell highlight the features. The pistol weighs 26.25 ounces overall, with a 4.5-pound trigger pull. The ZEV 0Z9c retails for $1,679.
