The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is an organization that emphasizes self-defense and practical handgun skills. It was founded in 1996. It was created with the goal of providing shooters with a safe, fun, and competitive environment in which to test their skills.
Today, the International Defensive Pistol Association is the fastest-growing shooting sport in the world. There are over 20,000 members in over 60 countries. Their matches are held at clubs and ranges around the world. There are even regional and national championships.
