New from Shield Sights is the Shield RMSx, a dedicated mini-red dot sight for competition shooting. The new RMSx replaces the RMS as Shield’s primary competition optic.
Shield RMSx Features and Design
The new Shield RMSx focuses on competition shooting, which is at the heart of Shield’s focus. A new octagonal window increases the viewing area by 80% and enhances the optic’s durability. The coated lens is scratch resistant, additionally it’s parallax free to optimize aiming speed. Lastly, it takes advantage of updated LED and battery technology to improve battery life over previous generations of Shield sights.
“Shield Sights started over 25 years ago by developing and manufacturing red dot sights specifically for the Competitive shooter. Over the years we have learned the competitive environment presents a completely different set of variables than are commonly found in other applications,” said James White, CEO Shield Sights “We feel the RMSx provides a perfect balance of features that will meet the needs of the most discerning competitive shooters.”
Mounting Footprint for the RMSx
Furthermore, the new optic utilizes the same footprint as the previous generation of Shield sights. This footprint hosts several other sight brands as well, including the Leupold Delta Point Pro and the Sig Sauer Romeo Zero. The RMSx, like other Shield optics before it, sits low enough in the mount to naturally co-witness iron sights without the need for suppressor height sights.
