Century Arms VSKA Rifle Features

Billed as a heavy-duty line, Century Arms machines critical components from S7 tool steel. Further, those components include the bolt carrier, front trunnion and feed ramp. Also, critical parts are heat-treated for maximum durability, according to Century Arms.

Century Arms further claims S7, referred to as “Shock-Resisting Tool Steel,” is commonly used in chisels and jackhammer tips, delivering maximum shock resistance and high compression strength, while retaining toughness. Century describes the carburized bolt as “case hardened to a higher hardness while maintaining sufficient ductility in the core. This bolt benefits from a lower coefficient of friction in the carburized surface which reduces the potential for galling and plastic deformation.”

Century Arms machines the front trunnion and bolt from billet, and the company says it exceeds durability goals. Moreover, the VSKA features a nitro-carburized 4140 steel bolt, chrome-moly 4150 barrel and RAK-1 Enhanced Trigger Group.

Finally, the VSKA utilizes a magnesium-phosphate finish, while heavy-duty American Maple wood furniture complete the package. Each rifle ships with a standard, 30-round magazine; MSRP is $735.95.

“We are extremely proud of this product and the value it delivers to AK enthusiasts”, said Jason Karvois, Director of Sales for Century Arms. “The addition of this new lifetime warranty to every VSKA backs our belief that this rifle, whose development included an unprecedented level of testing for the platform, will perform for years to come.”

Note: Century Arms maintains the warranty extends to all VSKA rifles purchased prior to the recent announcement. Further, the company encourages all customers to retain their receipts, as Century requires receipts for all warranty service.
