New: The Thyrm SwitchBack 2.0 for Your Tactical Flashlight

The Thyrm SwitchBack, a multi-function finger ring and pocket clip for your tactical flashlight, was introduced in 2014. Now, the California-based company is back with the SwitchBack 2.0, which the press release claims is the “next evolution” in the lineup.

Built for military, law enforcement and civilian use, the SwitchBack 2.0 mounts between the tailcap and body of your flashlight. It works with both handguns and long guns, and allows the user to deploy and index a flashlight from both pockets and pouches using the rigid retention ring. Users can also shoot using a natural two-handed grip, as well as employ traditional low-light techniques like the Neck Index, Modified FBI and Harries.

The SwitchBack 2.0 has a range of new features, including a stronger pocket clip that works with MOLLE/PALS webbing; pocket clip position that allows for deeper carry; wider thumb rest with traction features; small crush ribs on the lip that create a custom fit across a broader range of lights; aluminum spacer that expands compatibility with the Streetlight HL and HL-X flashlights and other companies with similar designs; and a finger ring that releases under heavy force, but can be reset.

“We spent the last year paying close attention to our customer’s feedback, working with our experts to test dozens of prototypes. We couldn’t be happier with the new design,” Thyrm CEO Andrew Frazier said. “As with our other gear, we are proud to design and manufacture the SwitchBack 2.0 in the USA.”

Available in black, tan and urban grey, the Thyrm SwitchBack 2.0 is priced at $19.99.
