Fabrique Nationale, by way of its U.S. counterpart, FN America, has earned its reputation as one of the finest builders of battle-tested and proven rifles for our military. The FN SCAR series of rifles remains a favorite among many military and police operators.
After years of providing replacement parts and rifles for military M16s and M4s, FN finally stepped into the civilian market with its AR-platform FN 15 series of rifles. Built to military specifications, FN 15s are simple and reliable rifles that today’s law enforcement officers need.

FN America’s FN 15 is built using high-quality forgings to the same standards required by the U.S. military. The flattop upper receiver includes the standard carry handle along with A2-style sights and a flash suppressor.
At the heart of the rifle is a button-rifled, chrome-lined, 1-in-7-inch-twist barrel. Built to withstand the rigors of fully automatic fire, the barrel is accurate and easy to clean.
The new FN 15 Patrol Carbine variant adds a Samson flip-up rear sight and a Midwest Industries quad-rail handguard. Designed as police patrol rifle, it is simple and reliable while providing the minimum of accessories necessary for proper street use.
I recently got to test this new rifle using some of my favorite accessories to see how it would perform as a patrol carbine. I used a Trijicon SRS along with my EOTech EXPS2-2 and EliteIron’s .30-caliber BattleDog suppressor.
