The Smith & Wesson’s M&P FPC has been a fantastic addition to the S&W lineup. When they released it in 5.7, however, a grin appeared on my face. I am a fan of 5.7, and the FPC is an excellent platform for it.
Smith & Wesson’s M&P FPC & Gemtech Nebula 5.7 – Silent Performance
Inspired by Smith & Wesson’s M&P handgun line, M&P FPC models all share familiar features. This new folding carbine design incorporates an M&P 5.7 pistol grip and flat-face trigger. It is also compatible with the same 5.7x28mm magazines. Additionally, it operates on a semi-auto blowback design and includes an integrated recoil buffer system to mitigate recoil impact for improved control during firing.

The M&P FPC 5.7 has a 16.25-inch barrel with a ½ x 28 threaded muzzle to accommodate suppressors and an overall length of 30 ⅜ inches. When folded, it achieves a compact length of 16 ⅜ inches for easy storage. In addition, its horizontal folding mechanism serves as a locking latch to ensure secure transport.

22 Round Magazine
The M&P FPC 5.7 handguard is equipped with an upper Picatinny rail and M-LOK slots for accessories. Its in-stock magazine storage enables quick and efficient reloading. Users familiar with previous FPC models will also appreciate the newly integrated QD sling mounts positioned on the stock and sides of the handguard. Out of the box, it comes with three 22-round magazines along with a proprietary loading tool. In addition to the standard M&P FPC 5.7 model, Smith & Wesson also offers a compliant version. This version maintains the same features but includes three 10-round magazines.

Nebula 5.7
While the FPC in 5.7 is very nice, I feel it would be even better if we could run it suppressed. Gemtech, a part of the S&W family, agreed and has launched the Nebula 5.7 suppressor for use with the FPC and other 5.7 guns.
Gemtech’s advanced capabilities are showcased in the design of the Nebula 5.7. This new suppressor delivers an ideal combination of compact size, strength, and ultralight weight, making it an essential accessory for anyone considering enhancing their 5.7x28mm platform. In addition, it is engineered with versatility in mind. The Nebula 5.7 is compatible with a wide range of mounting options, including Plan B-style universal muzzle devices. Its most noteworthy feature is a 3D-printed titanium core optimized for 5.7x28mm. It is also effective with .22LR, .17HMR, and .22WMR ammunition.
