For 2015, Mossberg has unveiled its new Patriot series of bolt-action rifles, which are available in a number of options and chamberings. Shooters can choose from over 63 SKUs, with chamberings running from .223 Remington to .375 Ruger, a first for Mossberg.

Several stock options are also available, including walnut, synthetic and camo. The walnut-stocked Patriot is a classic hunting rifle with a raised cheekpiece. The grip and forend have high-traction stippling, instead of the traditional checkering, to offer a better grip in wet or slippery conditions. This particular variant also comes with a 22-inch, fluted barrel.
All Patriot rifles feature Mossberg’s renowned Lightning Bolt Action (LBA) trigger, which is user-adjustable from 2 to 7 pounds and features the unique lightning-etched safety toggle. Mossberg also installs a fluted bolt into the Patriot’s action, which helps reduce weight and offers less friction. Mossberg has redesigned the bolt handle as well, streamlining it and choosing an angle that offers better clearance for shooters with larger hands or those wearing gloves.
Mossberg is already offering several affordable bolt-action Patriot variants, including some fitted with scopes and a smaller Youth version for younger or smaller-statured shooters.
