Following calls from users to add magnum-class calibers to the CROSS family, SIG Sauer answers with the CROSS Magnum. Chambered in .300 Win Mag, the CROSS Magnum features a user-changeable barrel, aluminum frame, and folding adjustable precision stock. Additionally, the radial compensator design reduces felt recoil by forty-five percent, according to the company.
The SIG Sauer CROSS Magnum Bolt-Action Rifle
Building on an aluminum, coyote anodized frame, the CROSS Magnum features bolt action operation in .300 Win Mag. However, although chambered for .300 Win Mag, the chamber is compatible with rounds up to .300 PRC. Correspondingly, the frame accepts AICS magazines and ships with one 6-round mag.
Featuring a user-changeable 5R barrel, users can swap out the caliber while keeping their scope and pic-rail mounted. The 24-inch barrel, with 1:9 twist, also includes 5/8×24 threading for installing a suppressor or other muzzle device. However, according to the company, the rifle ships with a radial compensator installed, which reduces felt recoil by forty-five percent.
Likewise, the free-floating handguard, with full-length M-LOK and ARCA rails, allows easy removal to assist with barrel swaps. Correspondingly, the full-length M-LOK and ARCA rails allow for various accessories and tripod/bipod installation.
The interface is provided via a black polymer forward angle PRS style grip with right-side thumb rest safety. In addition, the folding adjustable precision stock allows for check riser and length of pull adjustments. Not to mention, when folded, it makes the CROSS Magnum more portable in the field for long hunting treks.
Rounds are delivered on target via a two-stage match trigger, delivering maximum accuracy potential.
“Starting with the receiver design, the CROSS Magnum allows for easy barrel changes while keeping your scope and pic-rail mounted, adds a new folding hinge for easier, intuitive folding, better stock-retention and a stronger lock-up, includes a full-length ARCA and M-LOK rail for maximum tripod and bipod usability and adjustment in the field, while the integrated radial compensator design reduces the felt recoil of the magnum caliber by forty-five percent. The CROSS Magnum is feature-rich, performance built, and ready for the hunt,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales.
