Ruger SR1911 Street Edition Series: Red Barn Commander

Ruger just announced the latest addition to its SR1911 line in celebration of the company’s 75th anniversary. The Ruger SR1911 Street Edition Series launch in a 4.25-inch variant of the classic Government Model.

The first edition of the Street Edition begins shipping in November. The new series commemorates Ruger’s 75th anniversary. The first edition comes adorned with the 75th anniversary logo and “75 Station St.,” the address of the iconic Ruger Red Barn, the birthplace of Ruger manufacturing.

The remainder of the Street Edition SR1911s ship at the end of 2024. Common design elements repeat across the series. But each pistol also represents its own Ruger facility of manufacture. Those markings include “1 Lacey Place” from Southport, CT; “411 Sunapee St.,” in Newport, NH; “271 Cardwell Rd.” in Mayodan, NC; and “200 Ruger Rd.” in Prescott, AZ. Each member of the series features a unique grip color. The top of the slide wears an engraving of the facility street name. Ruger plans to limit the run to 500 of each Street Series pistol.

The lightweight Commander-style pistols come chambered in .45 Auto. Each 4.25-inch barrel utilizes stainless steel. The stainless steel slide features fine detail engraving, along with the Ruger logo and an American bald eagle, a classic symbol of American freedom. Drift-adjustable, Novak 3-Dot sights enable fast target acquisition.
