Sig Sauer has developed a reputation for developing top-tier weapons and evolving them over the years with input from shooters, operators and trainers. This results in guns that are built for hard use and today’s modern deployments.

To this end, Sig Sauer has redesigned its venerable, gas-piston-driven, 5.56mm NATO SIG516 and, for 2016, released the SIG516 G2.
Some of the piston-driven SIG516 G2’s new features include a lightweight, skeletonized gas block that allows users to adjust the weapon for ammunitions, suppressor use and conditions.
Surrounding the barrel and gas pistol system is a KeyMod handguard (similar to the MCX series) with a long top rail, KeyMod slots along the sides and bottom, and numerous lightening cuts that also help dissipate barrel heat.

The lower receiver features fully ambidextrous controls for left- and right-handed shooters as well as a B5 Systems SOPMOD stock that is adjustable for length of pull.
