SUPRA Precision Light Rifle: APO Showing New Model at SHOT Show

Ashbury Precision Ordnance is showing off their new SUPRA Precision Light Rifle at SHOT Show 2017. Built on the full-featured SABER MRCS-AR modular rifle chassis and Ashbury’s own line of SABER bolt action receivers in a number of different calibers, SUPRA rifles are designed for long-gun shooting enthusiasts who want the form, fit and functionality of an AR in an accurate, lightweight, precision bolt action platform. Each are hand-crafted by Ashbury’s team of USMC-trained gunsmiths, armorers and craftsmen.

Ashbury will be displaying the SUPRA Precision Light Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor at SHOT Show 2017, booth #31407 in the Law Enforcement section, Titian Ballroom. For more on these new rifles, which are chambered in 15 different short and long action calibers in right or left hand configurations, check out the press release below.

The core of the SUPRA Precision Light Rifle accuracy, are Ashbury’s SX and LX octagonal SABER® bolt action receivers precision machined from billet 416R stainless steel. The receiver is matched with a strong one piece, 2-lug bolt made of 4140 Chromemoly steel. Both the bolt and receiver are coated with a rugged, all weather protective BLACKNITRIDEâ„¢ finish. The standard SUPRA fire control mechanism is a single stage trigger set to break at a crisp 3 pounds and an optional 2-stage adjustable Tubb T7T trigger is also available.

The SUPRA’s MRCS-AR rifle chassis is engineered to interlock with Ashbury’s octagonal bolt action receiver, and is fed by a 5rd or 10rd detachable box magazine. The Precision Light Rifle uses a LUTH-AR (and soon to be released APO ACARS shoulder stock) adjustable carbine shoulder stock mounted on a six position MIL-SPEC buffer tube and attached with APO’s double locking alloy hinge. The octagonal aluminum alloy AR styled hand guard uses Magpul’s popular M-LOK® accessory attachment system and has 3, 6 and 9 o’clock accessory attachment points. An optional carbon fiber hand guard is also available which further reduces rifle weight. Both the hand guard and shoulder stock are forward compatible with other advanced SABER modular rifle chassis system components.

APO precision rifle barrels are engineered using Ashbury’s proprietary BASEDâ„¢ (Barrel Safety Engineered Design) software for calibers from .223 to .408 CheyTac. The standard Pinnacle Series medium contour match grade barrel is made of 416R stainless steel that is fluted and hand lapped. SUPRA rifle barrels are chambered to a straightness of less than two ten thousandths (<0.0002″) of an inch or better and finished with an 11 degree target crown, threaded muzzle concentric with the bore and finished with a muzzle brake suppressor adapter! Ashbury also offers a Proof Research carbon fiber wrapped barrel option on the standard and Elite SUPRA models.

The SUPRA Precision Light Rifle features a one-piece monolithic 20 or 30 MOA 12 o’clock Picatinny top rail with plenty of room for a rifle scope and clip on night vision or thermal imaging device for coyote, and hog hunters. Ashbury’s patented monolithic rail provides unparalleled chassis rigidity for consistent long range accuracy. The SABER chassis also has fixed or detachable shoulder stock joints, variable grip angles, adjustable hand-grip-to-trigger distance, and a comfortable Ergo Slimline pistol grip.

The base SUPRA rifle weighs approximately 9.75lbs with the standard medium contour Pinnacle barrel and 9lbs with a Proof Research carbon fiber wrapped barrel. There are flush cup sling swivel attachment points along the entire length of the rifle that are repositionable on the hand guard. The rifle is available in a range of Cerakote finishes to include: Armor Black, OD Green, Bazooka Green, Titanium, Tungsten or Sniper Gray, Flat Dark Earth and more. The MSRP for the base SUPRA Precision Light Rifle is $3,490.00
