The Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous is an invitation-only event that brings together selected firearm industry brands and some of the industry’s best content creators. Together, we spend our days out on the range and the evenings enjoying cocktails, dinner, and relationship-building. It is exceptionally well designed and run, making it an excellent experience. The event is held in beautiful locations with incredible accommodations. We will be at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming, this year. This is a massive and luxurious ranch located in Southeast Wyoming. With 30,000 acres of private Wyoming wilderness, world-class dining, and breathtaking views, it is one of the most beautiful ranches in the West.

Intimate and Exclusive Range Time

The center of the event is range time. The range sessions are unlike any other event of this type. Writers are teamed up and follow a specific schedule. This schedule moves them in very small groups from one manufacturer to the next. While at a “station,” the writers have one-on-one time with the companies to discuss their products. All the companies bring samples. Writers test drive new guns and gear right next to the company’s representative. This intimate setting results in a deeper understanding of the product. It also provides “inside” information that can only be acquired in a face-to-face experience. I am friends with many manufacturers, and the feedback we receive on this format is beyond complimentary.

Because Athlon Outdoors has a solid reputation regarding product embargoes, we always get time with new products. Companies enjoy sharing their latest secret product before it is released. This puts Athlon Outdoors in a position to provide extensive and detailed content for the company once the product goes live as part of the Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous.

Relationship Building

After the range, we enjoy relaxing social time and an incredible dinner. While this may seem like an “and also” part of the Rendezvous, it is one of the most memorable parts of the event. Writers, company representatives, editors, and management all get the opportunity to take off their work hats and enjoy each other’s company. This has led to the development of long-time friendships. It has also strengthened the relationship between Athlon Outdoors and the companies lucky enough to get an invitation.

When the last piece of brass hits the ground, and goodbyes are shared, the writers and content creators go to work. Well over 100 pieces of content will be produced from our time on the ranch. From individual articles on specific products to numerous videos, it is an avalanche of information that starts with the Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous.
