He has also served as a longtime content creator for Athlon Outdoors and its predecessor companies, building a reputation for authoritative, experience-driven storytelling in the firearms and hunting space.
Langston’s career extends well beyond writing. As a literary agent and publishing executive, he has represented multiple authors, including New York Times bestsellers, and collaborated with production companies in film and media. He served as General Manager for Whitman Publishing’s 2nd Amendment Media imprint, where he authored America’s 100 Greatest Guns and contributed to the Red Book of Gun Values series. Earlier, as Publisher of Stoeger Publishing, he revitalized the historic brand and oversaw the release of Escape in Iraq: The Thomas Hamill Story, which quickly reached the New York Times bestseller list.
From 2005 to 2008, Langston was Director of Marketing for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, where he led innovative campaigns that increased hunter participation and license sales while shaping strategies later adopted by agencies nationwide. He has also served in leadership roles with the National Wild Turkey Federation and as Editor of Southern Trophy Hunters Magazine.
Today, Langston continues freelance writing and editing from his Tennessee farm, where he and his wife have built a home and extensive shooting ranges. An award-winning writer and competitive shooter, he remains deeply engaged in the outdoor lifestyle, pursuing whitetail deer and wild turkey across North America.
