Conspiracy Corner – Cloud Seeding and Weather Modification

Chem-trails, secret societies, cloud seeding? Crazy, I say, they’re all crazy! It’s crazy even to think these subjects can be discussed in the light of day. But wait, the government has been dabbling in weather modification since the 70s. Say it ain’t so!

If there’s some truth to each of these events, even just a sliver, then the whole plot starts to unravel, and you ask, what aren’t they telling us and why?

Cloud Seeding is Real?

Oh to be a little older, a little wiser. To have lived to have seen even a fraction of World War II or all of The Vietnam War. To walk away from all of that and still believe the government is an ally, you better sit down for this one.

Operation PopEye was a military cloud-seeding project carried out by the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. The project aimed to increase rainfall in select areas to prevent ingress and egress for supply trucks, causing landslides.

These operations were going on back in the ’60s’ and ’70s. Here now, in 2024, we are supposed to believe that anyone who whispers “weather modification” and “government involvement” is a conspiracy theorist.

As a result, the Weather Modification Act of 1972 required that all persons conducting non-federal weather modification activity report to the United States Secretary of Commerce at least ten days before and after said activities. I can appreciate that this Act is not about prohibiting modifying the weather with chemicals but simply ‘notifying’ someone.

DARPA

DARPA, or Defense and Research Projects Agency, has been around since 1958. It was founded by our 34th President, Dwight D. Eisenhower, allegedly in response to the Soviet launching of Sputnik 1 in 1957. DARPA has been working on a few things: Cyborg insects, Siri, robotic pack animals, and weather modification.

One that they are working on is ironically called I.C.E., which stands for Ice Control for Cold Environment, “DARPA’s new Ice Control for Cold Environments (I.C.E.) program aims to control the physical properties of ice crystals to protect military assets and personnel for enhanced operational capabilities in extremely cold environments.

I.C.E. plans to leverage biological adaptations to cold environments to develop novel biologically sourced and inspired materials to meet this goal. Novel technologies developed via I.C.E. will facilitate sustained operations by developing strategies to prevent frostbite and materials for anti-icing approaches.” all sounds unambiguous, right? This is all they’d be using it for.

Controlling the Weather

Over the last 20 years, there have been experiments regarding weather modification, mainly on the effects of seeding clouds with chemicals like silver iodide crystals. During just the right conditions, it has been possible to augment precipitation by ten to twenty percent and to reduce the frequency of fire-producing lightning strikes.

Currently, in the U.S., 11 states support efforts across. Cloud-seeding programs occur worldwide. In the Western U.S., state and agency-supported efforts occur across California, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, North Dakota, Utah, and Idaho.

The most common chemicals used for cloud seeding include silver iodide, potassium iodide, and dry ice (solid carbon dioxide). Liquid propane, which expands into a gas, has also been used. It can produce ice crystals at higher temperatures than silver iodide.

Unfortunately, the use of silver iodide has been linked to numerous health risks, including toxicity, reproductive disorders, developmental defects, and cancer. Symptoms of silver iodide toxicity include coughing, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. Just calm down, folks; it only affects the ‘other people, ‘ not you.

Blueskying

China’s government has engaged in a campaign to control local meteorological conditions to produce blue skies on command. A phenomenon referred to here as “blueskying.” Can we take a moment to remember the 2022 Olympics? Reportedly, they seeded the clouds to create large amounts of precipitation to subdue the pollution.

China has refined this technology after spending billions of dollars on it and testing it extensively. They employ tens of thousands of people in their weather modification bureau across China. In 2020, they announced a plan to extend this program to cover an area spanning almost three and a half square miles. They claim this is not just to reduce smog but to help rural areas fight droughts, prevent hail from destroying crops, and even stop wildfires and dust storms.

Weather Super Tech

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates U.A.E. stated they used drones to modify weather. They equipped the drones with electric shock devices that fly into the existing clouds and release a burst of electricity to form rain and did not have to use chemicals like silver iodide to cloud seed.

Some speculate that weather modification played a role in the floods in Dubai and Sharjah on April 16, 2024. It was record-breaking rainfall at 10.03 inches or (254.8 mm) in less than 24 hours. The reports of deaths attributed to this phenomenon are reported to be 20 people.

Though some people consider this blasphemy or playing God, if you’re not one to take it to that extreme, we can all agree that messing around with Mother Nature has never proven to turn out in our favor. Too many turn to call those who are having a difficult time believing the ones who hold all of the money and the power could enact such things, conspiracy theorists. That we are so far off in thinking something nefarious could be happening. Should we all just “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”
