Recently Creedmoor Sports set out with the desire to accommodate premier 1 ¼” dies on the standard Redding T-7 press. This led the company to spend much of 2022 building a family of products focused on enhancing existing reloading presses on the market. As a result, Creedmoor Sports developed two product lines, the Enhanced Press Head and the Adaptive Press Head. The pinnacle of this product family, the Adaptive Press Head, is now available.
The Creedmoor Sports Adaptive Press Head
Manufactured to exact tolerances, the Adaptive Press Head features a stainless steel construction. Likewise, featuring a premium finish, the press head offers high corrosion and wear resistance as well as high thread quality. In addition, utilizing a true drop-in design, installation of the Adaptive Press Head takes only minutes.
The press head utilizes the Adaptive WedgeTM System, which supports multiple die sizes, including 7/8-inch and 1-1/4-inch. At the heart of the Adaptive Wedge System is a set of wedge-shaped holders which provide precision fit and positioning as well as multiple die size compatibility. As a result, the wedges allow reloaders to set up their dies one time and then simply exchange wedge/die sets in the press head as needed.
During the machining process, particular care is taken to maintain the flatness of both the top and bottom surfaces. This true perpendicular relationship between the head and die results in higher quality and more consistent loads by reducing run-out in bullet seating operations. Likewise, an integral detent and track system captures the indexing ball during rotation. This reduces wear and makes transitioning from station to station smooth, positive, and repeatable.
The wedges can be purchased individually or in sets for different size dies for a customizable and repeatable die system. Additionally, the wedges accept premium and large format dies from top-tier manufacturers such as Treibel and others.
