Daniel Defense Unveils Highly Anticipated 3D-Printed DD WAVE Suppressor

Daniel Defense is officially entering the standalone suppressor market with the DD WAVE. First publicly unveiled at the 2017 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Atlanta this past April, this 7.62mm suppressor boasts an innovative 3D printed construction, as well as an overlapping baffle design. It’s available in quick-detach or direct thread versions.

“The DD WAVE is unique because it’s constructed entirely using 3D direct metal laser sintering technology,” Daniel Defense president and CEO Marty Daniel said. “We are able to do things with this type of manufacturing that you simply can’t with a conventional machine. The one-piece design, constructed from Inconel, eliminates the need for welds, which are usually the weakest parts of a suppressor. So what you’re left with is a suppressor of unmatched strength and durability.”

The DD WAVE—partially named for its advanced cascading baffle geometry—is made using 3D printing technology, allowing a unique baffle design that forces gas into concentric, confined spaces, extending dwell time in the suppressor and resulting in a product that very effectively mitigates noise, Daniel Defense said in a press release.

The quick-detach DD WAVE model features Daniel Defense’s Acme Thread Quick-Clamping System that won’t carbon lock and clamps the suppressor to a 17-4 PH stainless steel muzzle device, making it easy to remove after extended use. Meanwhile, the direct thread version features your traditional thread-t0-barrel application.

Constructed of Inconel, stainless steel and titanium, and finished in Cerakote, the DD WAVE is lightweight, durable, and reliable. It accommodates calibers ranging from 5.56mm to .300 Win Mag.

The DD WAVE quick detach model has an MSRP of $1,157, while the direct-thread version is has an MSRP of $986.
