Daniel Defense Launches Hard-Use SoundGuard Suppressors Line

Daniel Defense just launched a new line of cans, designed to take the beating from folks that are serious about rounds downrange and for duty applications. The Daniel Defense SoundGuard Suppressors come billed as built for “hard use.” In more technical terms, the new suppressor design works to reducing back-pressure.

“Through years of working with multiple military/law enforcement agencies – as well as consumers – our team pinpointed specific criteria for this family of suppressors,” said Marty Daniel, President and CEO.  “In addition to the obvious, sound reduction, limiting the amount of toxic gasses, reducing muzzle flash and accuracy were all critical.”

The SundGuard line comes well-balanced and reliable, according to Daniel Defense. They utilize cutting-edge gas-flow dynamics, eliminating over-gassing and direct gas forward. Shooting some cans lead to eating gas in the face out of the chamber. So this new design sounds like an upgrade to be sure. The patent-pending baffle stack and proprietary coating on internal parts reduce the firearms’s signature to nearly zero, according to Daniel Defense. Meanwhile, patent-pending gas-flow pathing stabilizes rounds, ensuring accuracy and limiting point-of-impact shift.

The Daniel Defense SoundGuard suppressors impressed during initial testing.

The DD SoundGuard Suppressors feature an industry-standard 1.375-24UNS thread pitch. This means they allow for the use of multiple attachment options, including Keymo and ASR. The line debuts with three direct-thread models: SG-556 (.223/5.56), SG-30 (.223-300 PRC), and SG-30Ti Titanium (.223-300 PRC).

Editor’s Note:

We got some hands-on time running the new SoundGuard cans at the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous in Idaho. At first glance, with many civilized, quiet rounds sent downrange, this new effort from DD looks like a winner. We put a ton of rounds downrange, engaging targets from 50 yards to out past 500. And they held up well during initial testing. Look for more content on this new suppressor line coming soon!
