DeSantis Holster's 40th Anniversary - Interview with Gene DeSantis

Forty-years in the making, DeSantis Gunhide celebrates its four decade tenure in the holster business with a 40th Anniversary Catalog featuring artwork from the last 40-years and an in-depth interview with Gene DeSantis, the man that started it all! Gene shares with interviewer Dennis Adler how his wife Helen DeSantis designs the catalogs and manages the marketing for DeSantis Gunhide, and many other highlights!

Prior to Gene starting DeSantis Gunhide he supplemented his income after college creating holsters for the FBI, his only customer at the time, and their 4″ Smith & Wesson M&P handguns. Later, once DeSantis Gunhide was established, his clientele expanded from FBI to law enforcement and concealed carry holsters. F.A.M.S. HOLSTER WITH LOCK HOLE

F.A.M.S. with Lock

This asymmetrical design is now the standard issue for the U.S. Secret Service and other Federal Law Enforcement agencies. The hole accommodates a padlock or standard handcuff behind the trigger allowing the weapon to remain holstered and loaded but locked and safe for childproof storage. T72 solid brass locks are available for purchase separately. The belt slots are 1 3/4″ wide and accommodate most combination locks or handcuffs. The F.A.M.S. holster is available in black.

THE SAFETY STAR HOLSTER

The Safety Star holster is a leather and leather lined level ll security holster made for 4″ medium frame revolvers and autos. The injection molded polymer hanger can be locked to the duty belt and is fully adjustable for cant. The Safety Star holster is available in plain, basket-weave and high gloss.

DESPERADO HOLSTER

The Desperado holster is an authentic 1800’s Mexican loop holster, ideal for today’s cowboy action shooting. Crafted from premium saddle leather, the holster features a full suede lining, and decorative border stamping, hammer thong, and an authentic 1800’s logo. THE ANKLE HOLSTER

The 044 Ankle Holster is made with Velcro closures for easy on and off. Securing the weapon is accomplished with a positive-snap device. The holster is perfectly molded, offering positive retention and reliability. Foam-padded suede affords additional comfort. Available in black unlined leather. THE COZY PARTNER

The #028 Cozy Partner holster features a tension device and precise molding for handgun retention. A memory band retains the holster’s shape for easy one handed re-holstering, and a 1 3/4″ split belt loop is standard. The holster must be worn with a belt, and belt loops are NOT adjustable nor available in smaller sizes. The memory band, split belt loop and tension device is available on most models. The Cozy Partner is available in tan or black unlined leather.

THE INNER PIECE

DeSantis Inner Piece Holster

The Inner Piece is an inside the waistband holster (IWB) built from premium saddle leather. The holster features an adjustable tension device and a rear stabilizer wing for additional comfort and security. The top of the holster is reinforced to allow one handed re-holstering, and the 1 3/4″ double split belt loop with snap fasteners are standard. It must be worn with a belt, the adjustable tension device and memory band are standard. The belt loops are NOT adjustable nor available in smaller sizes. The holster is available in tan unlined leather.

THE TERMINATOR

DeSantis Terminator Shoulder Holster

The Terminator bandoleer shoulder holster has been designed specifically for large, heavy hunting revolvers. The thick foam padded bandoleer strap takes the weight of even the new S&W(R) 500 very comfortably. It’s built from waterproof suede and leather, and is highly adjustable for all body types. The fully lined holster is crafted from the finest full grain leather and is oil finished in saddle tan. The holster is fitted with an adjustable tension device, a hammer strap, and a belt tie down. Available in tan lined leather. Bandoleer rig fits up to a 54″ chest.
