Desert Eagle 1911 U Puts Magnum Research Undercover

Magnum Research was looking to scale down on the 5-inch barrel of its 1911G Government sized model, which has been offered for the last three years.

For 2014, Magnum Research has released the the undercover model of the 1911: the all new Desert Eagle 1911 U.

How much smaller did Magnum Research get with its new model? The Desert Eagle 1911 U has a 3-inch bushingless barrel, which gives the small pistol full-size accuracy.

The Desert Eagle 1911 U is built on an ultra lightweight frame made of aircraft grade aluminum alloy and features a 4140 high carbon steel slide and adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

Compact as it may be, the new pistol from Magnum Research still comes with the features one would expect from a combat pistol. Standard features of the Desert Eagle 1911 U include a checkered front and back strap, double diamond checkered wood grip and stainless steel hex screws. The pistol also has a high-rise beavertail safety, skeleton hammer and an aluminum trigger.

True to the earlier 1911 variants, this model is a Series 70 configuration.

The .45 ACP Desert Eagle 1911 U has 6+1 round capacity, an overall length of 6.85 inch, height of 5 inches and weighs just 25.8 ounces. The pistol comes standard with two six-round magazines.
