Report: Glock Gen5 To Be Released at the End of August

Word on the street is that the first Glock Gen5 is set to be unveiled at the end of August.

The rumor mill started on the Glock Talk forum. A user posted that he went to GT Distributors in Jacksonville, Fla. to buy a blue label Glock 17 Gen 4. He was informed by the sales associate that he could place an order for the Glock 17 Gen 5. He did so, even providing a photo of the sales order form (see above) as evidence. The user also said he’d be able to pick up new Glock Gen5 by “early September at the latest.”

The speculation kicked into overdrive shortly after that. Royal Range, in Nashville, Tenn., created an event page on Facebook — complete with an image — for an “Exclusive Glock New Model Launch Party” set for Aug. 26. According to the details on the page, the range was picked as one of 100 ranges to unveil the new Glock model “five days before the official release date.”
