GLOCK’s G22 RTF2

Glock‘s G22 RTF2 (Rough Textured Frame version #2) pistol was the big news from the Austrian pistol giant. The new RTF design has more than 4,000 raised pyramids on the front, rear and sides of the polymer receiver. These pyramids are also located in the thumb rests for increased grip surface. Additionally, the slide on the G22 RTF2 has a new, modern look with crescent shaped serrations located at the rear of the slide.

The newly designed frame is yet another feature on the Glock pistol that signifies Glock’s commitment to making the best semi-auto pistol possible. “We have already had several major agencies commit to the G22 RTF2 and have had an outpouring of interest from our Commercial and Law Enforcement distributors about our new product,” said Director of Sales Craig Dutton. “We are looking forward to another record year in 2009 and with the addition of the G22 RTF2 pistol, it should be a very reachable goal!”

A few days before sending Glock employees to the SHOT Show, they had the opportunity to visit with some deputies from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department in Georgia. During the visit, Corporal Mike Barker shot the G22 RTF2 at the Glock Training Range and was impressed with the results.

“The texture on the pistol allows for a great shooting grip. An officer can already be nervous in a tactical shooting scenario and this new feature will ease your mind knowing that even if you are only able to shoot with one hand, your grip will remain intact on the frame,” said Corporal Barker. “The serrations on the slide also allow for easier slide operation because it is more ergonomically correct. It will make a great addition to your law enforcement arsenal.”
