I spoke with Harry Humphries, the training and weapons consultant for 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, while he was in Malta for the movie’s primary filming.
When asked about the weapons used on the set, Harry said, “For this production, aside from their reliability and simplicity factor, we used GLOCKs because they are the secondary weapons of choice for the GRS [Global Response Staff] and the CIA’s PSD contractor program.”
Also in the movie were standard M4 Carbines, M249 SAWs, M240s, Sig Sauer P226s, HK69A1 40mm grenade launchers, SR-25 sniper rifles and typical bad guy guns like AKs, RPGs and mortars.
In 13 Hours, the guns are properly used, and their effects are well represented. Scroll through the gallery to see some of the weapons used in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, as well as the actors training with those firearms.
