A teen with a shotgun entered a north Fort Worth, Texas, grocery store in June of 2015, but he didn’t come out alive. The 18-year-old suspect tried to rob the store with two accomplices.

A 68-year-old man working at the grocery store said he handed over his wallet, but the trio was no less menacing. The employee, who came to the U.S. 15 years ago from Vietnam, grabbed his revolver and fired at the robber who was pointing the shotgun.
“I have to protect myself,” he said.
According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, the suspect suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, the grocery store worker said he was OK but very uneasy. The other two robbers had gotten away, and no arrests had been reported.
“Right now, I am still afraid a lot,” the store employee said. He plans never to let his guard down, especially when he is at work, because he fears that the two other robbers might come back to the store for revenge.
