Back in November of 2024, Kimber introduced its 2K11 platform, delivering increased capacity, unwavering accuracy, and exceptional handling. It possessed the high-end style the company is known for, as well as the performance everyone has come to expect. During our Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous, we got to experience that first-hand, and it lived up to the hype. But Kimber didn’t leave well enough alone, and released the 2K11 Pro model in August and now the Comp series in four different configurations.
The Kimber 2K11 Comp Series
Unlike the original, the 2K11 Comp series is built on Kimber’s new carbon-fiber grip module. However, the double-stack 1911 grip maintains the wrap-around stippling, with matching stippling on the mainspring housing. Likewise, the undercut trigger guard and beavertail grip promote a high purchase. As a result, the 2K11 Comp delivers enhanced retention and control.
The difference in the new model is in the slide and barrel—and it is a game-changer. Most everything about the slide is the same. It still features the custom forward and rear cocking serrations and optic cut, finished in black or stainless finishes. However, following consumer and influencer feedback, the 2K11 Comp now features an integrated compensator just forward of the front sight.

Housed within the slide is the same crowned and fluted barrel, with the addition of the corresponding integrated compensator. As a result, the 2K11 delivers exceptional recoil control, improving on already superior accuracy. The new Comp model is available in either 4.25- or 5-inch barrel lengths chambered in 9mm. This, combined with the two finish options, allows for any of four configurations.
Maintaining the hallmark features of the original 2K11, the Comp includes the toolless guide rod system and external extractor. Likewise, select variants are available with the Stan Chen Customs competition magwell, and TAG Precision steel optic adapter plates.

Rounding out the 2K11 Comp is the same GT flat-faced trigger that delivers a clean, crisp break. However, according to Kimber, the trigger has been shortened for comfort. Adding to the accuracy mix, the skeletonized trigger delivers a 3- to 4-pound pull.
According to Kimber
Pedi Gega, Director of Product Development, Assembly and Finishing, stated, “The 2K11 Comp is the culmination of years of preparation and hundreds of thousands of rounds of testing to deliver the most fully featured, comprehensive handgun we have ever produced. The new 2K11 family of compensated models creates the highest class of firearms for the discerning enthusiast and competitive shooter.”
Availability
The Kimber 2K11 Comp is available now with an MSRP of $2,345.00 or $2,499.00, depending on the model.
