Louisville: Armed Homeowner Shoots Two Suspects During Botched Break-In

A break-in at a home in Louisville, Kentucky ended with both suspects getting shot by the armed homeowner last week.

According to WDRB, the shooting took place at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The homeowner’s wife says two teenaged intruders broke into the house and killed the family dog. Unfortunately for them, they didn’t realize somebody else was home.

At some point, the homeowner grabbed a gun and opened fire, shooting the intruders. It appears both suspects fled the scene and were found nearby.

“Pop, pop, pop! And there was a pause, and then, pop, pop!” neighbor Charles Graham said. “And then a couple seconds later, he was running down the street saying his brother got shot.”

As WLKY reports, one suspect was shot in the leg, while the other was shot in the back.

Police arrived and transported both suspects to an area hospital. They are expected to survive their injuries.

No charges have been filed against the homeowner at this time.

“I mean, it’s a shame that you have to protect your house like that, but someone comes in your house like that while you’re home, then I guess you have that right,” neighbor Gary Dickman told WDRB.
