I have always held a phrase that is true of success in the firearms industry. Good companies build guns, but excellent companies listen and then build guns. It is that connection with real-world needs and applications that separates these two. A great example of that is LWRCI and their new LWRCI IC-DI .350 Legend—TrueTimber Prairie Camo.

A growing trend in many states is the institution of straight-wall cartridge rules for hunting. Particularly in areas where previously only shotguns were allowed. States like Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois are prominent examples of this trend due. This is mostly due to the perceived safety benefits of the limited range of these cartridges in densely populated hunting areas.Â
.350 Legend
A round that has caught fire in that new trend is the .350 Legend. This is a straight-walled intermediate rifle cartridge developed by Winchester. It is designed for deer hunting . LWRCI made the decision to build a gun around this cartridge. They also wanted to do it with a great partner. That partner is TrueTimber. Many may think they are a little late to the party, but according to LWRCI’s Director of Communications, Tom Rickwalder, getting the rifle right and doing it with the right partner was important.

“The partnership between TrueTimber and LWRCI demonstrates our mutual commitment to delivering high-quality products to outdoor enthusiasts… Each of these rifles offers an exciting new option for hunters and shooters looking for a reliable and effective tool in the woods or on the range. Our Prairie camo is an exceptional and versatile camo pattern, and this collaboration is set to revolutionize the hunting industry,” said TrueTimber CEO Rusty Sellars.
With the rifle ready and stage set, I received an invitation to join LWRCI at the South Carolina Waterfowl Association. The event was designed to allow me time on the new LWRCI IC-DI .350 Legend TrueTimber Prairie Camo rifle. We would be hunting Lowcountry Whitetail and any hog that happened to make a wrong turn and walk out. Outfitted in some excellent TrueTimber gear, we hit the trail. As we made our way to our stands, though, I could not stop being in awe of the location we were in.
The South Carolina Waterfowl Association
The South Carolina Waterfowl Association property is unlike any place else I have hunted. Their official line is: The South Carolina Waterfowl Association (SCWA) exists to enhance and perpetuate South Carolina’s wildlife heritage through education and waterfowl habitat conservation. What they don’t say is that their 1,375-acre property is dedicated to teaching and ensuring our hunting legacy. With countless programs and one of the most impressive facilities I have ever seen, they deserve kudos for their efforts.
Range Time
During the mid-day lull, we drove across the facility to the range to get more time on the new rifles. While I am accustomed to LWRCI and their guns from the tactical side of the house, this new hunting rifle had the same high quality that I expected. The guns shot extremely well, and I could easily shoot quarters at 100 yards with the LWRCI IC-DI .350 Legend TrueTimber Prairie Camo. It cycled well and proved itself as a shooter. The fit and finish on the gun were nice, and the TrueTimber hydro dip was done well. This is some new ground for LWRCI. Their partnership with TrueTimber Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas is pretty ingenious.

LWRCI IC-DI .350 Legend TrueTimber Prairie Camo – A Winner
While I had no shortage of deer walk out, that one special buck we wait for never came out. That is the nature of hunting. For those that hunt, however, you know that I still had a fantastic time. Being among people of like mind, shooting a fantastic new rifle, and being outdoors are always winners. The new LWRCI IC-DI .350 Legend – TrueTimber Prairie Camo is also a winner. If you are looking for a straight-wall rifle in a fast-shooting AR platform, this is your gun, my friends.
