VIDEO: Bob Odenkirk Is the New John Wick in Trailer for ‘Nobody’

We’re big fans of the “John Wick” film franchise. Aside from the entertainment value, it also has some of the better gunplay we’ve seen on the big screen. Keanu Reeves is now a bit of an icon in the firearms industry thanks to his work training for the “Wick” films. But now, another Wick-like icon might be on the way in the form of … Bob Odenkirk? Wouldn’t have guessed it, but the first trailer for Odenkirk’s new film “Nobody” has us believing.

‘Nobody’ Trailer Brings Plenty of Guns

We’re big fans of Odenkirk, mainly for his work on “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” as fast-talking lawyer Saul Goodman. He’s been known as a funny man for a long time, but he’s never really played the tough guy role; that changed with the release of the first trailer for “Nobody.”

The film revolves around a family man who previously “worked for some very dangerous people” as a hitman. After showing up on someone’s radar, a bunch of gangsters go after him and his family, forcing him to come out of retirement.

Minus any kind of dog incident, it sounds very much like a John Wick-style film. It makes sense, too, because the writer for “Nobody” is Derek Kolstad, the same man who wrote the “John Wick” films. From what we can see, it looks like “Nobody” has a little more of comedic edge than the Wick films. It also looks like “Nobody” has just as much gunplay, which bodes well for fans.

We’re pretty excited for the fourth and fifth installments of “John Wick,” which were announced back in August. But “John Wick 4” doesn’t hit screens until 2022. Thankfully, “Nobody” hits screens on Feb. 26, 2021, in a “theaters only” release, according to its trailer. We’re looking forward to seeing Odenkirk as a potential badass.
