For the past 50 years, Ruger‘s 10/22 has been the gold standard for .22 LR rimfire rifles. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 10/22, Ruger held a contest and asked shooters to send in their customized 10/22 rifle design. The company received nearly 1,000 submissions and eventually selected 10 finalists, asking the public to vote on their favorite design. The winner of the design for the Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary Rifle won a production version of their rifle, a trip to the Newport, NH plant to watch the production run, and $5,000 worth of Ruger product. The Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary Rifle is chambered in .22 LR and features a 18.50″ stainless steel, cold-hammer forged barrel with a 1:16 twist and 1/2″-28 thread flash suppressor. This rifle also includes a lightweight black composite stock, a modular stock system with two interchangeable stock modules, a picatinny rail for mounting optics, a ghost ring adjustable rear sight and a non-glare post front sight, a push-button manual safety, and a detachable 10-round rotary magazine. In addition, this rifle features a special 50th anniversary markings on the bolt and receiver.
