The Savage Model 10 GRS Is Now Available in 6mm Creedmoor

Four months after Savage Arms officially rolled out its Model 10 GRS bolt-action rifle, the iconic Massachusetts-based gun maker has announced a model chambered in 6mm Creedmoor.

Created by necking down the 6.5 Creedmoor case, the 6mm Creedmoor cartridge is capable of accurate 1,000-yard shots with moderate recoil. The press release touts it as “the next hot cartridge for long-range precision shooting competitions,” but that remains to be seen.

The Model 10 GRS rifle in 6mm Creedmoor features a fluted heavy 26-inch barrel with a 5/8-24 threaded muzzle; GRS stock made of 15 percent fiberglass-reinforced Durethan; adjustable length of pull from 33.5 to 36.5 cm; slim grip and forend with textured rubber grip surfaces; Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger; and an overall length of 46 inches. Also included are flush cup sling loops and a sling mount for when you want to use a bipod.

This rifle is built to be accurate “whether you’re engaged in top-level competition or simply trying to beat your personal best,” the company says. Shipping out with a 10-round AICS-compatible magazine, the Model 10 GRS in 6mm Creedmoor is available at a suggested retail price of $1,449.
