Competition shooters just got delivered on a long-time big ask from SIG Sauer. The new American-made SIG P226-XFIVE brings the championship-winning platform more readily available to U.S. shores, made right here in the USA. Now you too can run the gun made famous by Max Michel in high-level pistol competitions around the world.
Michel straight up dominated with the original X-FIVE. Now SIG Custom Works brings that same platform and performance back stronger for the U.S. market. Based on SIG’s popular P226, the 9mm SAO pistol sports a 5-inch bull barrel and stainless steel frame. Together, it blends into a shooting machine.
SIG P226-XFIVE Details
The P226-XFIVE features a ton of modularity in its design to enhance shooter performance. It incorporates a fully adjustable trigger for pull weight and over-travel. Meanwhile, the trigger shoe removes and adjusts for length-of-pull. A adjustable Dawson-style rear sight also removes, making way for a direct-mount ROMEO1PRO, ROMEO2, or other optic utilizing the PRO footprint. The pistol ships with three, 20-round steel magazines featuring alloy base pads.
Classic Model Available
For those more tuned in to the classic appeal of guns, SIG will also offer a new XFIVE with a twist. The CLASSIC comes with the XSeries optic-ready slide, a 5-inch bull barrel and fully adjustable trigger. Additionally, the pistol sports Hogue Cocobolo grips with an ally magwell.

Editor’s Take:
The SIG P226-XFIVE comprises a serious competition-level pistol. Whether a local monthly match or major national competition, this gun brings enough game to go after any pursuit. These have been hard to get and remain highly sought after by some. So bringing this production to the U.S., via the Custom Works, bodes well for shooters interested in running the 226-XFIVE. We’ve shot this gun a bunch in the past. It’s pure fire.
