Soldier Borne Mission Command – Augmented Reality
The Soldier Borne Mission Command (SBMC) provides a single platform that allows the soldier to fight, rehearse, and train. It leverages tactical mixed reality to increase the warfighter’s battlefield awareness. This improves their ability to rapidly identify potential threats and take decisive action. The SBMC enables tactical planning and networked information sharing. In addition, it supports an augmented reality Synthetic Training Environment (STE) that will enable warfighters to fight “bloodless battles” before engaging the enemy.

SBMC integrates next-generation 24/7 situational awareness tools and high-resolution simulations to deliver a single platform. This platform enhances soldier sensing, decision-making, target acquisition, and target engagement. These capabilities will provide increased lethality, mobility, and situational awareness. This is necessary to achieve overmatch against our current and future adversaries.
Soldier Worn Tech
In layman’s terms, they are looking to use a compact soldier-worn headset that integrates night vision, mapping, communications, and other mission-critical data. This project is out of its theoretical stage, and contracts have been awarded for the actual development of this space-age tech.
Recently, the United States Army awarded Elbit Systems of America an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contract valued at $120.5 million to develop Soldier Borne Mission Command (SBMC). This creates a next-generation capability that redefines how Soldiers operate, connect, and dominate in complex, contested environments. It is built on Elbit America’s proven legacy of see-through-display and night vision expertise.

Increased Lethality

Elbit America tapped advanced technology company Booz Allen, the leading provider of AI to the federal government, to build SBMC’s critical software backbone. This includes advanced extended reality solutions, networking frameworks, and AI-enabled insights.

Better Process Data
