Taurus just announced the latest addition to the company’s popular TX22 line of semi-auto rimfires. The new Taurus TX22 Compact puts 13+1 rounds of .22 LR into a highly packable, shootable little platform.

It’s been a couple of years now since Taurus launched its initial TX22. Priced right and a fun little shooter, the pistol excelled. The company followed it up with the TX22 Competition. Again, folks loved Taurus’ renewed interest in rimfire and the attention to detail in its design. Now Taurus does it again with a compact version, one suitable as a trainer, defender, plinker and more.

The design should prove popular with folks sporting smaller hand sizes. That doubles duty usually as a suitable trainer for new shooters as well. So the compact .22 still delivers tremendous utility and versatility.

Throw in the staggered 13-round magazine, and now you’ve got plenty of firepower as well. A slide-mounted mini-red dot sight mount fits the Holosun K footprint, so carry-optics is in play as well.

Remarkably, the little compact pistol sports a suppressor-ready, threaded barrel as well. The same industry-standard sights found on the Taurus GX4 family of pistols pulls double duty here. And Taurus claims a solid trigger mechanism marks the TX22. It allegedly breaks clean, with no stacking, according to Taurus.
