Texas: Concealed Carrier Shoots Would-Be Carjacker

A good guy with a gun shot a man during an attempted carjacking in Texas this past weekend.

According to Fox San Antonio, the incident occurred in the Far West Side area of San Antonio around 12 a.m. Saturday. A man told police he and his 15-year-old son were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Ingram Road when a car pulled up beside them.

Someone got out of the vehicle, walked over to the other car and tried to forcibly remove the man from his SUV. A struggle ensued, and the suspect pulled out a gun and fired two shots in a failed attempt to scare the man. Fortunately, the would-be victim happened to be carrying a concealed handgun. He drew his weapon and opened fire, causing the suspect and his other accomplices to flee the scene.

The concealed carrier said he fired at the suspects’ vehicle as it sped off. He then drove to a nearby gas station and called the authorities.

As Fox San Antonio reports, the suspect turned up an hour later at an area hospital seeking treatment for two gunshot wounds to his right arm. He was then taken to a different hospital, where he was ID’d as the carjacker. He has been charged with aggravated robbery.
