Walther PDP Match: Steel & Polymer-Framed Competition Blasters

The popular and well-executed Walther PDP line of pistols continues its maturation with the announcement of two new pistols built specifically for competition shooting. The Walther PDP Match comes in polymer- or steel-framed variants, delivering two distinct action-pistol platforms to meet shooter demands.

Walther PDP Match Steel Frame

Let’s jump right in with the Steel Frame, one sure to grab attention from serious shooters. Weighing in at 41 ounces, the Steel Frame model delivers the heft some competition shooters require. With a capacity up to 20 rounds, this one also keeps you competitive with other pistols in the category. Make no mistake, the Steel Frame version of the PDP Match is built to compete and win.

“The PDP Match Steel Frame is a game-changer. With unwavering stability, shooters are able to have lightning-fast follow-up shots and laser-like accuracy,” said Jens Krogh, vice president of marketing and product development for Walther Arms, Inc.“Like its polymer counterpart, the versatile features combined with the steel frame, makes this an unparalleled performance-enhancing powerhouse.”

Walther PDP Match Polymer Frame

A little more affordable, and more familiar to a carry gun for some, the Polymer Frame pistol still delivers the right mix of features for that same competitive edge.

“Our goal is to consistently provide our consumers with dependable and durable handguns, which ultimately increases their confidence as they feel comfortable with their firearm, and they look good in the process. The PDP Match not only has sophisticated aesthetics, but it keeps shooters in the action longer with their time and attention focused on their target, not worrying about their performance,” Krogh said. “This is more than a firearm; it’s a collection of power, precision, and perfection, promising unparalleled performance and redefining the standards of excellence in the world of handguns.”

Editor’s Take:

We’ve put a tremendous amount of rounds through several versions of the PDP, including the remarkable PDP-F Series. And we can say without hesitation this entire series comprises outstanding pistols, for each of their designed roles. They flat-out run and shoot. So we’ve been waiting patiently for these competition-based blasters for some time. We know from the jump, both variants will no doubt excel. But look for a review very soon, where we’ll put one to the test and prove it.
