The AR-15 remains America’s Rifle, with good reason. The modularity and aftermarket component cottage industry converge to create build options limited only by the builder’s imagination. At the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous, we caught up with RISE Armament for a first look at several small parts components the company offers for component upgrade and DIY builds. You’ve no doubt heard about their triggers. But if you’re in the game to upgrade or build your next AR, RISE components offer great utility and value.
RISE Armament Small Parts for AR-15 Builds
RISE AR-15 Magazine Release Button
To execute an effective magazine change with speed, you gotta get on the button. Competition shooter regularly upgrade this small, often overlooked component on their AR-15. The RISE AR-15 Magazine Release Button features a concave shape with horizontal, slide-resistant grooves. Machined from 6061 aluminum, the component utilizes a Type II hard anodized finish. The finish comes in five different anodized colors, including RISE Red, Patriot Blue, Spartan Bronze, Silver and Graphite. It retails for just $9.99.
RISE Extended AR Charging Handle Latch
RISE’s Extended AR Charging Handle Latch works with AR-15, AR-10 and AR-9 platforms. And like the Magazine Release Button, the Latch is all about performance and speed. This small upgrade promotes faster, more sure manipulation of the charging handle. From sweaty to gloved hands, more purchase equates to getting back on the gun faster. The extended latch features an ergonomic surface for better grip. Like the Button, it comes in the same multiple anodized colors, including Black, RISE Red, Patriot Blue, Spartan Bronze, Silver and Graphite. The Extended AR Charging Handle Latch retails for $21.99.
RISE M-LOK QD Sling Mount
Standardization for some aspects of the AR-15 platform has come painfully slow, but it appears–at least for now–that we live in an M-LOK world. So RISE developed an M-LOK QD Sling Mount for better performance. This mount accommodates attachment in a forward position on the handguard. The low-profile design eliminates snag. Built form 6061 aluminum, it cuts down on added weight as well. Again, it comes in multiple anodized finishes: RISE Red, Black, Foliage Green, FDE, Patriot Blue, Viking Iron or Spartan Bronze. The mount retails for $19.99.
RISE Lower Parts AR-15 Kit
Whether you’re in the middle of your next build or not, every shooter needs a lower parts kit–or several–on the bench and in the range bag. And if you’re truly building from a stripped lower, the RISe Lower Parts AR-15 Kit makes a great addition to the build. The 20-piece kit features all the working components, minus the trigger–we’ll get to that. And the kit matches up with mil-spec AR-15s. The parts kit retails for $44.99.
