SIG Sauer is one of the largest gun manufacturers on planet Earth. From military and police contracts, to one of the biggest civilian fanbases, SIG pleases just about everyone with its innovation. Meanwhile, Wilson Combat creates some of the most beautiful and best performing guns you’ll find. Combine the two, and it’s hard not to imagine a winner. When the partnership involves the SIG P320, the manufacturer’s most popular gun, interest piques to a new level. Today, we have our first look at the all-new 9mm Wilson Combat WCP320.
WCP320 Pistol Details
When Wilson unveiled its P320 Grip Module back in January, we had a feeling a complete pistol was on the way. And we were right. The new semi-auto pistol collab features serious work from Wilson Combat gunsmiths and engineers. They completely reworked the SIG P320 chassis and unfinished SIG manufactured slide into their ideal version of a striker-fired pistol.
Firstly, as expected, the new pistol uses the aforementioned SIG P320 grip module. It also uses Wilson’s in-house re-machined slide, as well as Wilson’s combat performance battlesights. But let’s get back to the grip module, which has already received a lot of praise from shooters. The newly designed and manufactured grip provides enhanced traction, smoother reloading, and improved recoil control. Essentially, it improves the P320’s ergonomics, which were already pretty stellar.
Wilson Combat machined the slide using its X-TAC pattern. The front and rear cocking serrations, as well as the slide top, also use the X-TAC pattern. Meanwhile, the stainless steel slide and chromoly barrel featured what Wilson says is “the most advanced black DLC physical vapor deposition finish available. The finish features both chromium and tungsten under-layers for long lasting corrosion and abrasion resistance.
Lastly is the trigger. SIG’s flat-faced XFULL trigger comes standard. It typically gives shooters a lower finger position on the trigger; that increases leverage for a lighter, smoother trigger pull. However, for those who want more, there’s another option. For an additional $155, Wilson Combat gunsmiths will action tune the trigger using custom trigger parts from Grayguns. Both a flat and curved trigger is available, pending preference.
WCP320 Availability and Price
So, as previously mentioned, the new collab pistol is available in two models: Stock and action-tuned. Also, there are two different color schemes available: Black and Tan. The stock model has an MSRP of $1,195 in either color. Meanwhile, the action-tuned model has an MSRP of $1,350.
The price on a standard P320 varies pending the model. However, mid-$500s is common for the standard model. Is the WCP320 worth the price? We certainly think so. For more information, please visit WilsonCombat.com.
