The TALO Spirit of America Colt 1911
Building on a canvas of a Colt Classic Government Model 1911, the Spirit of America features a stainless-steel construction. Likewise, chambered in .45 ACP, the model O1911C-SS houses the Series 70 firing system with single action only operation. Additionally, safe handling of the 1911 is provided via a manual thumb safety, beavertail grip safety, and firing pin safety.
The slide features exquisite engraving, heralding the rich history of the United States interlaced throughout the 24k gold vine scroll. Likewise, the background is made up of a backdrop of snake scales running the length of the slide. This proves a gentle and subtle reminder, “Don’t Tread on Me.”
The left side of the slide features the American bald eagle with gold plating, soaring high above the Rocky Mountains. Behind the eagle, the American flag flies high and proud over the purple mountain majesties. Adding an extra level of detail, the eagle’s head and tail feature a silver plating that makes it pop.
Nestled within the vine scrollwork on the right side is a beautifully detailed depiction of Mount Rushmore. As with the left side, Old Glory waves behind the proud busts of our nation’s founding fathers. Just below the slide, on the frame, is the special ERS serial number, denoting the issue number of the 1-of-500 run.
A nod to our first president’s childhood proclamation, “I cannot tell a lie. I did cut it with my hatchet,” are beautiful cherry wood grips providing the interface. Embedded within the grips on each side is the iconic “Rampant Colt” with 24k gold plating.
Rounding out the aesthetic are 24k gold-plated controls, pins, and screws throughout the Colt 1911 platform. Likewise, the hammer and barrel bushing feature 24k gold plating to finalize the hammer-to-muzzle theme.
