As gun guys and gals, many of us like handling our own maintenance. It’s easier than most people realize. We publish tons of “how to” guides, along with expert tactics and training. Having said that, we never acknowledge the real professionals in our world: the modern-day gunsmith.

Why Go To a Gunsmith?
The reason we’re bringing this up is due to a recent conversation we had with our friend Lauren Young. She’s savvy with her firearms, but often takes them to a gunsmith. She did so recently with her FN 509 Tactical. Why?
“Changing out a trigger can be time consuming,” she says. “While I wish I had all the time in the world to learn how to change out every single part of all the ones that I have, I just don’t have that time. And most people don’t have that kind of time.”
“I am going to do my best to remove the stigma from people going somewhere to get something done on their guns that they either don’t feel comfortable doing themselves or they don’t have the time,” she adds. “No judgement from me.”
