Canik just upped its game in a big way. The new Canik TTI Combat leverages a partnership with Taran Tactical Innovations, tapping the champion shooter and trainer for an upgraded variant on the popular Canik platform.
Canik TTI Combat Details
For the uninitiated, Taran Butler has become the tactical trainer for the stars. Remember the crazy viral Keanu Reeves/John Wick videos? Taran is the man behind the fast triggers. Before that recent stardom, Butler became one of the most dominant shooters in the history of action pistol and 3-gun competition. Along the way, he set up shop producing tuned components and firearms, all born from his competitive experience.
The latest venture brings a collaboration with Canik, and we got our hands on the new Canik TTI Combat at the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. And this one absolutely impressed! It comes out-of-the-box ready for anything you wish to throw at it, from USPSA to concealed carry.
“I’ve been following Canik and their progress for many years,” said TTI founder Taran Butler. “From Nils Jonasson winning titles to Canik winning awards for their new designs, it was obvious to me that they were the right company to partner with. This is going to be big!”
Pistol Features
The heart of the Canik TTI Combat is a new polymer frame. It features a redesigned competition magazine well and double-undercut trigger guard. Aggressive grip texturing, redesigned interchangeable backstraps, and changeable magazine releases add a distinctive look and utility. An ambidextrous slide release, Pictainny rail and a flat-faced, 90-degree trigger stand out. A bronze Cerakote over black nitride finish makes for a striking blaster.
The top of the pistol incorporates front and rear cocking serrations. The 4.6-inch barrel comes fluted and rides within a ported slide. A removable barrel compensator features a proprietary quick-locking/unlocking system. The optics-ready pistol also works with the MeCanik MO3 and Trijicon SRO. An adjustable, blacked out rear sight and fiber-optic front sight provide a backup to optics.
In true Canik fashion, the pistol ships with a custom TTI Combat holster and two 18-round magazines. A Taran Tactical Innovations +3 base pad extension should get shooters up and running. A sped loader and three optic interface plates add more value. Finally, three backstrap options, a cleaning kit, tool kit and commemorative challenge coin all come in a Canik hard travel case.
“Our customers will be hard pressed to find a competition ready equivalent that meets the aesthetic, functionality, and performance standards of the Canik TTI Combat at this price point. This has been such an exciting collaboration for us, and we couldn’t be prouder of the results,” said Adam Ruonala, Canik’s VP of Business Development & Marketing.
