Editor’s Take:
The .38 Super owns a pivotal place in the history of the ol’ Government Model. But they don’t exactly proliferate dealer shelves. With the Tivas 1911 Stakeout, shooters get a chance to own a piece of history, and with it a pistol chambered in a cartridge that once dominated action pistol shooting as well. Better still, it comes with a 9mm barrel installed, so shooters benefit from the wide availability and relative low cost of the venerable 9mm cartridge. Priced at just under $600, this one won’t break the bank either, and that makes us love this opportunity even more.
