SHOT Show 2026 lost a fragment of its thunder with the anticipated arrival of “Winter Storm Fern.” Predictions of this “once-in-a-decade” event had attendees and manufacturers scrambling to get out and get home before it hit. Aside from the worry and commotion, it was still a great SHOT Show, especially when it came to guns and gear for women.

Caldwell ClayCopter
As Caldwell says, their new ClayCopter line is “A New Way to Clay.” For those of you who love shooting clays, Caldwell has created a game-changer. There are two others in this lineup, the ClayCopter Surface to Air and the ClayCopter Rip Launcher. I want to focus on the ClayCopter Launcher.
This handheld launcher weighs less than 2.5 lbs. It’s easy to operate and can be taken anywhere. It uses an electric motor to spin target discs up to 15,000 RPM and releases them as single targets or pairs up to 100 yards with variable speed control. The included LI-ION battery provides 300 launches on a single charge and features a built-in battery level indicator.

Byrna Guns – Less Lethal
For those who prefer a less lethal self-defense option, Byrna Guns is a fantastic choice. The Byrna Launcher is a potent, non-lethal self-defense weapon.
